Description
Cortex is looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to join their team. This role involves leading complex projects from start to finish, crafting high-performance frontend features, and enhancing the codebase. The engineer will also drive engineering process improvements, partner with product and support teams, and provide leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, and improve user interfaces for the developer portal.
Lead projects from specification to post-production support.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to build new features and enhance existing ones.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that follows best practices.
Constantly improve planning, development, and deployment processes.
Ensure the product is current with the latest frontend technologies.
Identify and champion opportunities for process and technical improvements in the frontend codebase.
Exhibit ownership over frontend codebases and any assigned functionality.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of professional experience in frontend engineering, focusing on building modern and intuitive user interfaces.
Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as React and TailwindCSS.
Experience with complex single-page applications.
Understanding of fundamental design principles for responsive and user-friendly applications.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to mentor and coach engineering team members.
Experience at a hypergrowth startup is a plus.
