Paymentology is seeking a Remote Software Engineer (Backend/Fintech). The ideal candidate will work with the Engineering team to develop enterprise-level, secure financial processing systems. This role involves building systems that manage millions of transactions, integrating them with web, mobile, and API platforms globally.

Responsibilities

  • Create, enhance, and maintain software applications and systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions.

  • Implement code that meets best practices and industry standards.

  • Manage multiple projects, review progress, and recommend process improvements.

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and deliver dependable software solutions.

  • Gather and analyze software requirements with product management and tech leads.

  • Design software solutions considering scalability, performance, and security.

  • Write clean, efficient code using relevant languages and frameworks.

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate functionality and performance.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs throughout the software lifecycle.

  • Manage source code repositories using version control systems like Git.

  • Document technical information, including design documents, user guides, and API documentation.

  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to build software applications.

  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and quality assurance engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in software development.

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Java and experience with the Spring Boot framework.

  • Understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.

  • Familiarity with development tools like IDEs, Git, and issue tracking systems like JIRA.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Skills in unit test and/or Test-Driven Development.

  • Ability to document requirements and specifications.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

  • Flexible hours and ability to participate in on-call duties.
