Paymentology is seeking a Remote Software Engineer (Backend/Fintech). The ideal candidate will work with the Engineering team to develop enterprise-level, secure financial processing systems. This role involves building systems that manage millions of transactions, integrating them with web, mobile, and API platforms globally.
Responsibilities
Create, enhance, and maintain software applications and systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions.
Implement code that meets best practices and industry standards.
Manage multiple projects, review progress, and recommend process improvements.
Possess strong problem-solving skills and deliver dependable software solutions.
Gather and analyze software requirements with product management and tech leads.
Design software solutions considering scalability, performance, and security.
Write clean, efficient code using relevant languages and frameworks.
Develop and execute test plans to validate functionality and performance.
Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs throughout the software lifecycle.
Manage source code repositories using version control systems like Git.
Document technical information, including design documents, user guides, and API documentation.
Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with engineering teams to build software applications.
Work closely with product managers, designers, and quality assurance engineers.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in software development.
Proficiency in programming languages like Java and experience with the Spring Boot framework.
Understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
Familiarity with development tools like IDEs, Git, and issue tracking systems like JIRA.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
Skills in unit test and/or Test-Driven Development.
Ability to document requirements and specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Flexible hours and ability to participate in on-call duties.
