Description
FastSpring is seeking a Software Engineer III for Payments & Risk to enhance our risk engine and optimize payment methods globally. This role involves extracting valuable data signals, building risk solutions to minimize fraud, and improving customer revenue.
Responsibilities
Design systems to optimize seller revenue without affecting other processes.
Build a minimally intrusive solution to minimize fraud using industry best practices.
Understand and address payment methods and customer behaviors across different geographies.
Maintain security, resilience, and scalability.
Collaborate across teams to balance urgency and effectiveness.
Ensure data-driven decision-making prevails.
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in Fintech with international payments.
Proficiency in back-end programming, preferably in Java.
Familiarity with resilience and observability.
Comprehensive understanding of payments and risk domains, including card processing, 3DS, and real-time payments.
Strong ability to interpret data and apply deductive reasoning.
Capability to manage external technology as black box services with high reliability expectations.
