Shopify is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. The individual will focus on maintaining and improving the systems that keep our platform resilient and performant. The role involves creating and enhancing tools, supporting incident management, and directly impacting production systems that support commerce for millions of merchants.
Responsibilities
Enable engineering teams to create resilient systems.
Build and improve tools to maintain platform performance.
Define Resiliency and Site Reliability Engineering for Shopify.
Respond to automated alerts and execute playbooks during on-call rotations.
Identify process gaps and develop tools to enhance incident management.
Improve production tooling to ensure platform resilience.
Analyze platform signals to efficiently debug issues.
Ensure prevention of repeated failures in systems.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a relevant role.
Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
Ability to work in APAC, EMEA, or NA time zones for on-call shifts.
Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to change.
Experience with production systems and incident management.
