The Senior PHP Developer will help modernize the e-commerce platform and reduce technical debt.
This role focuses on upgrading PHP and MySQL versions and improving the software development lifecycle.
The developer will work with the team to enhance the codebase architecture and support customer customizations.
The role also involves collaborating with DevOps to improve the CI/CD pipeline and maintain code quality.
Responsibilities
Develop an actionable plan to reduce technical debt with a focus on critical areas.
Upgrade PHP and MySQL versions to improve system performance.
Establish a structured development lifecycle that includes version control and proper environments.
Lead the transition to a modular and maintainable codebase.
Implement best practices for code quality, documentation, and development processes.
Collaborate with the team to resolve bugs and deliver new features for customer requirements.
Work closely with the DevOps team to enhance the CI/CD pipeline and overall infrastructure.
Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers as the team expands.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Full Stack Developer with strong PHP skills.
Solid knowledge of modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
Proficiency in front-end technologies, including React and JavaScript.
Experience in modernizing legacy codebases and managing technical debt.
Strong understanding of software architecture principles and scalable system design.
A customer-focused approach with the ability to translate needs into practical solutions.
Experience with Shopify or BigCommerce is considered a plus.
