Kin + Carta is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is essential for managing data in a lake house environment, ensuring it is accessible, structured, and optimized for advanced analytics and machine learning. The position requires balancing flexibility and scalability of data lakes with the performance benefits of data warehouses.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable data pipelines for ETL processes.
Integrate data from databases, APIs, logs, and external providers, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Design and implement data models for relational and NoSQL databases, as well as data warehouses.
Manage data warehouses or lakes to store structured and unstructured data.
Perform data transformation and cleansing for analysis and implement data validation processes.
Implement data security measures to protect sensitive data.
Monitor data infrastructure for issues and performance bottlenecks.
Automate routine data engineering tasks to improve efficiency.
Maintain documentation for data pipelines, processes, and models.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data-related requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
5 years experience in data engineering.
Proficient in ETL processes and tools.
Familiarity with databases and data warehousing concepts.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
Experience with cloud platforms.
Understanding of data quality and governance.
Hands-on experience in managing data pipelines.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to stay updated on industry trends.
