Elastic, the Search AI Company, is looking for a Senior Go Developer to join their Observability team. Elastic enables everyone to find real-time answers by using all their data at scale. The Elastic Search AI Platform combines search and AI intelligence to accelerate significant results. Over 50% of the Fortune 500 use Elastic's solutions to deliver influential AI results. The Observability team creates effective solutions for application developers. This includes managing infrastructure and services that support these applications. They develop data solutions for logs, metrics, traces, and profiling data in Elasticsearch. The focus is on building high-quality observability products for Elastic's solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead technical designs and implementations for observability intake services in Go.
Contribute to the team’s services as a hands-on developer.
Maintain, update, and enhance existing code and dependencies with automated test coverage.
Create and improve development infrastructure using modern tools like Tilt and Terraform.
Build robust backend solutions for OpenTelemetry data flow.
Design data formats for optimized storage and query performance in Elasticsearch.
Review pull requests and provide technical guidance to peers.
Develop SLIs and SLOs and engage in on-call rotations for service ownership.
Proactively participate in team discussions to foster a positive culture.
Collaborate with other teams on cross-feature projects and topics.
Engage with the community through pull requests, issues, and forums.
Requirements
Positive attitude and curiosity.
Expert-level knowledge of Go, including memory management and benchmarking.
Strong understanding of systems design.
Analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with high-throughput, low-latency services.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Ability to work independently in a global team.
Willingness and ability to share knowledge and empower peers.
