This role is for a Lead Python Engineer at Rentable.
The engineer will lead a small team, build robust data pipelines, and create scalable software solutions.
The candidate will work with Python along with other languages to support data collection and data processing projects.
The role includes project management, technical guidance, and setting high standards in code quality.
Responsibilities

Lead a small team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines.

Manage projects and allocate resources to complete tasks efficiently.

Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

Monitor project progress and address any issues while ensuring reliability and performance.

Contribute individually by writing high-quality code and solving technical challenges.

Design and implement data ingestion processes using asynchronous workers and modern data warehousing solutions.

Track daily data processing and use anomaly detection to quickly resolve issues.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in engineering management.
Requirements
-
At least 5 years of experience in software development, with proven leadership in team settings.

Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS startup is strongly preferred.

Background in data collection from the web using parsing and scraper tools such as Beautiful Soup, proxy usage, and frameworks like Playwright or Puppeteer.

Experience in building and scaling batch-style data ingestion systems.

Knowledge of data pipeline tools similar to Apache Airflow and dbt.

Experience with cloud services such as AWS including RDS, ECS, S3, Lambda, and OpenSearch.

Proficiency in Python; familiarity with Go, Ruby on Rails, or similar languages and frameworks is also required.

Ability to build and implement robust monitoring, performance metrics, error monitoring, and distributed tracing solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.

Ability to work in a dynamic startup environment with fast-paced project demands.
