Description
The Azure Core New Tech team seeks a Junior Site Reliability Engineer eager to assist with New Technology onboarding. This includes automating how new hardware is verified, managed, and delivered to Microsoft datacenters for Azure, High-Performance Computing, Office, and Edge Computing products.
The role involves working at the software and hardware interface, creating technology to validate, onboard, and manage hardware throughout its lifecycle. The team tracks hardware metadata and ensures its quality and security for Microsoft datacenters.
This role supports expanding capacity for Microsoft services and focuses on automating the management and tracking of new technology onboarding.
Responsibilities

Participate in code/design reviews and regular meetings with product engineering teams.

Take part in on-call rotations and respond to incidents throughout the product development and operations cycles.

Work closely with Hardware Validation teams, System Integrators, and DC Technicians to identify issues and provide mitigations.

Drive root cause fixes to development and partner teams.
Requirements

1 to 2 years of technical experience in site reliability engineering, software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

2+ years of technical experience in site reliability engineering, software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 1+ year(s) of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration OR a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
