GitLab is looking for an Intermediate Backend Engineer to join the Developer Experience team, focusing on Developer Tooling. The role involves enhancing the developer feedback loop and workflow efficiency for GitLab projects by measuring and optimizing project processes. The ideal candidate will appreciate contributing to the mission of enabling everyone to co-create software and will thrive in a supportive, all-remote work environment.
Responsibilities
Build automated measurements and dashboards for insights into engineering productivity.
Enhance developer productivity through measurement-driven improvements.
Utilize GitLab product features to improve developer workflow and provide feedback.
Participate in activities related to engineering throughput and KPIs.
Develop automated processes to support product and engineering workflows.
Enhance and add features to the GitLab product to improve engineer productivity.
Requirements
Experience developing in Ruby.
Experience with test automation frameworks for both front-end and back-end testing.
Experience in designing and developing tools and solutions used across teams.
Development experience with object-oriented programming languages and patterns.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with a front-end charting/visualization library.
Experience using test automation tools such as Selenium, Capybara, or Watir.
Experience with Continuous Integration systems like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Travis.
