Canonical is seeking a talented Golang Engineer to join our team of exceptional software developers. This position involves designing and implementing high-quality software in Go, with a focus on performance and security. At Canonical, you will contribute to various cutting-edge open-source projects and help deliver innovative solutions worldwide. This role provides a fully remote work environment, allowing you to work from any time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement well-tested and documented software in Go.

  • Debug and resolve issues encountered by users.

  • Participate in code and architectural reviews.

  • Collaborate with community and colleagues on technical specifications.

  • Seek improvements in engineering and operations practices.

  • Deploy and operate services developed by the team, when necessary.

  • Contribute to the success of products through technical advocacy.

Requirements

  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM fields, or a compelling alternative path.

  • Professional experience designing and writing high-quality Golang software on Linux.

  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Strong motivation, accountability, and result-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to travel twice a year for company events.
