Canonical, a growing international software company, is seeking a [Full Remote] Web Frontend Engineer. The ideal candidate is passionate about innovation and cutting-edge web technologies. This role involves designing and implementing software using web technologies or Flutter, as well as contributing to technical documentation. Responsibilities
Design and implement well-tested and documented software in web technologies or Flutter.
Debug and resolve user-reported issues.
Participate in engineering processes through code and architectural reviews.
Collaborate with community and colleagues on technical specifications.
Contribute to technical documentation to enhance its quality.
Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices.
Deploy and operate team-developed services.
Contribute to product success through technical advocacy.
Requirements
Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM fields, or an equivalent alternative pathway.
Demonstrated ability to exceed expectations.
Self-organized and capable of delivering on schedule.
Professional interaction manner with colleagues, partners, and community.
Experience designing and writing high-quality web technologies.
Passion for TypeScript, React, or Flutter.
A keen eye for accessibility and performance.
Professional written and spoken English.
Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and responsibility.
Passion and self-motivation in the role.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Result-oriented with a personal commitment to meet targets.
Ability to travel twice a year for company events, up to two weeks each.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with containers like LXD, Docker, and Kubernetes, and REST API design.
