Responsibilities

  • Develop custom site features to meet stakeholder needs.

  • Create enterprise-level WordPress plugins and themes using PHP and Gutenberg blocks with React.js.

  • Build integrations with internal and external systems via APIs.

  • Determine technical direction and guide decisions on custom code or community contributions.

  • Apply top-level security practices to the code.

  • Debug across various browsers and devices.

  • Implement best practices in WordPress, PHP, and JavaScript.

  • Encourage a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing.

  • Craft high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.

  • Monitor live website performance.

Requirements

  • Advanced expertise in PHP with professional experience.

  • Experience in WordPress engineering, including PHP, React.js, and Gutenberg block development.

  • Proficient in debugging performance and caching issues.

  • Experience designing scalable and maintainable site architectures.

  • Familiar with Unix command line.

  • Experience building localized websites.

  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-developers.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote role.

  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
