Back-End Web Developer

Description

The Back-End Web Developer at Tanium is a key member of the Brand and Corporate Marketing team. This role reports to the Web Architect and is responsible for maintaining existing code and building new features for Tanium's websites. The developer will work in a hybrid model, requiring some in-person attendance in designated locations. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in WordPress and demonstrate expertise in Object-Oriented PHP and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a distributed team of front-end developers, content managers, and designers.

  • Build new features and functionality for Tanium websites.

  • Maintain and update existing components and libraries.

  • Write secure, reusable code for WordPress and proprietary web architectures.

  • Optimize legacy code for scalability and efficiency.

  • Identify and patch vulnerabilities in the code.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using PHP with at least 3 years in WordPress back-end work.

  • Practical experience with Object-Oriented Programming.

  • Significant database experience, preferably with MySQL.

  • Functional knowledge of REST APIs.

  • Thorough experience with Git.

  • Preferred but not required: React, Regex, Gulp, XSS, SSRF, SQL Injection.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
