Description
Waystar is seeking an Advanced Application Engineer with expertise in PHP and GO to join the FinTech team. This role involves developing real-time APIs and core system logic for payment processing and banking integration. The engineer will work closely with technology and business teams to design, build, and implement web applications while assisting in resolving production issues.
Responsibilities
Propose technical solutions to the Manager, Application Engineering.
Design, develop, test, and implement improvements or new features on the Waystar website and core applications.
Develop and augment applications based on functional and technical specifications.
Adhere to Waystar coding standards and propose amendments when necessary.
Conduct unit tests and work with business or technology owners to meet requirements.
Communicate daily progress to senior team members and manage work items efficiently.
Assist in the QA process and participate in production code turn days.
Maintain open communication with management and positive relationships with team members.
Participate in designing and implementing enhancements to existing web applications.
Track development changes using internal tools and communicate with the QA team.
Identify areas for optimization or refactoring and notify the manager of impacts.
Requirements
Experience with statically typed/compiled languages like C#, Java, C, and Go.
Experience with dynamically typed/interpreted languages like JavaScript, Python, PHP.
Proficiency with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres.
